Chroma Key problem PLEASE HELP!

Let me start off by saying that this is a very good article about Chroma Keying in Sony Vegas. I understand it, but I'm having trouble with this part:

"You are now going to select the color to key on, but you are not going to select just one color. You are going to select a range. Draw a large box by clicking and dragging with the eyedropper in the video preview window."

I can't seem to get my eye dropper to draw a large box to select the range of color. How do I do this? HELP!

In their "infinite" wisdom, Sony decided to eliminate this option one or two versions ago.
The interesting thing though is that you can still drag out a rectangle but it won't show as one so go ahead like you always have and it will still work.
